Hello.
We’re in the planning stage of our next short comedy film, The Biscuit Poltergeist which is based on a terrifying true story.
No way! I hear you cry. Ridiculous. But part of it is true. Honest!
Some years ago my daughter Laurie was visited by a hooded figure in the night who hovered towards her (presumably because it was unable to walk through all her sweet wrappers and clothes littering the floor) while she was stuck in sleep paralysis hell. At the point the figure lowered its head towards her, it veered off towards her bedside table where it proceeded to give an open packet of biscuits a big sniff, declaring: ‘Mmm. Chocolate digestives. Nice,’ before hovering back towards the window and vanishing.
You’ll be pleased to hear that Laurie has been left unscarred by the biscuit-sniffing apparition and continues to this day to indulge in all types of biscuits including said chocolate digestives. The episode, however, has proved to be the inspiration behind The Biscuit Poltergeist which we will be filming in October starring the super-talented Dhvel Patel as inept investigative reporter Paton.
Big congratulations to Dhvel, by the way, who has just graduated with a MSc in Nanotechnology in Medicine and Healthcare from the University of Oxford.
For those of you who haven't seen The Beast of Romney Marsh, Paton tries to track the beast down by interviewing various strange witnesses. Dhvel also stars in our second short film Skulduggery, which we are editing. You can watch The Beast of Romney Marsh here.
Dhvel is one of the most positive people I have ever had the fortune to meet and work with and nothing seems to phase him, even the prospect of being pelted with biscuits.
His mantra is 'If I can do this, then you can do anything,' which has given me a massive kick up the proverbial to keep pushing our Kickstarter campaign.
So far, we're just over a third of the way to our target thanks to some very generous pledges with just 10 days to go before the Kickstarter ends. Thank you to everyone who has backed us so far.
If you like the project and want to see why skulls from a crypt are going missing and why a poltergeist is attacking people with biscuits, then please consider making a pledge, however small. We have some great rewards up for offer.
You can find out more about the films and why we need to reach our £1500 target here.
Thank you for reading.
